Hey to everyone who actually reads this 
I'm a 2010 HSC graduate and will have spots available to tutor any students from primary to secondary levels when I return from overseas. I believe I 'specialise' in HSC Ancient History, Modern History, Standard-Advanced English and Economics though. As to why I should be selected as a tutor for these subjects, I point to one simple philosophy. Success in the HSC simply requires some hard work (30%), some vital information (50%) and some common sense (20%). During my 2009 Prelims and 2010 HSC, I sought the help of certain institutional and private (including some found on BOS) tutors. As to the amount of time I input into my HSC, I received poor output. Most tutors are in for the money and not because they care. That's why vital information for the HSC is important. If you are to study smart and not hard (which I did in the later part of my HSC), you require the vital information from either a lot of hard work and common sense on your part or a good tutor to help you cut some of the work - which I believe I can do.
What vital information???
The information you need to succeed is the 'short-cuts' in the courses. It's not a secret that the HSC and most school exams have a few trends and are quite inflexible in their questions. Nor is it a secret that you can 'tailor' super-answers that will guarantee very good marks. Of course, if you are hard working and smart, you should study everything than take some risks. But for most people (including me), there are quite a few things to focus on besides the HSC in year 12. Risks in 'tailoring' answers can also be minimised with some diligence in study and alertness in class.
Tailoring 'super-answers'???
For the literary subjects, I believe one can achieve high marks for preparing molds to answer exam questions. I can teach how to create such molds and guide the student in doing so as well as provide example essays etc.
Is this advisable???
I was taught this 'trick' for English essays in the later part of my HSC and it worked successfully for me. I can also teach and explain content if tailoring 'super-answers' is not wanted. However, I very much of the thought that it is more practical and efficient in being tutored how to provide Band 6 or E4 answers rather than going overboard in studying 'everything there is to know' (such as interesting but unnecessary facts that are highly unlikely to be needed for an exam).
What can I teach?
