how much maths do you do in this course that isnt just directly related to actuarial studies, i.e. do you ever do any pure maths type stuff?

If you are at UNSW you'll do some Mathematics units (for Actuarials) but under the code MATH... so yes.

yeh, but i was wondering if we only did maths related to actuarial studies or if we did some pure maths type stuff as well.

You will do both - that related to Actuarial and just Pure Mathematics.

doesnt actuarial studies involve maths which is harder than 4u???
I guess... but most things at uni are harder than at High School anyway.
