I know I could hardly call this relating to school because of its irrelevance, but it just doesn't fit the 'non-school' definition.

I got this question from a book overseas "One half of eighteen gives ten, how?"

Don't post if you don't want to spoil the answer or the 'fun', just PM.

so if you divide the word in two
eigh teen

teen is kinda like ten

or half of 18

1 and 8

1 is like ten just without a zero.

If you cut 18 in half horizontally you get two halves which resemble tens. But if this is what the question means then it's more like getting 10/10 or 1.

Now, back to studying.

I've considered askin' "a sum of twenty" or just "one" instead but I think the question works out. Think about what the question says: "ONE half..." So you take only 1 of the two tens (the two halves of 18) that you have after you've chopped it.

Well, it's solved...
