Why does everyone want 97+ haha?

At a school of your rank i'd normally say you will want to be around top 2-3 in each subject and top 10 in english to be in a good position for 97+. But you have humanities subjects instead of chem/phys for example - i have no idea what the quality of cohort would be like for them and you'd want a slighty higher mark to offset the (little, but real) lower scaling of those subjects. Whether that means you need rank 1, im not sure, but it's not a bad aim to have.
