if you can fix my problem i will love you forever!
i have a dlink G604T and i have a PDA and loptop connecting wirelessly and a desktop PC connecting through ethernet. i have ADSL with TPG and a home phone with optus.
every 1/2 hour or so my network (ethernet and wireless) drops out however my ADSL line sync light stays steady. the ethernet seems to reconnect itself however the wireless shows as "connected" with signal strength "excellent" but i cant ping the dlink... to get it working again i need to restart the dlink then it will all connect up OK...
heres what i have tried:
thinking it was my wireless on laptop...
1. Removing firewalls
2. Testing my wireless adapter on other wireless networks = all OK
3. having only 1 pc connected through ethernet
thinking it was the wireless on the dlink...
4. disabling access point and using all devices on ethernet
5. changing the wireless channel
6. changing the RTS and Fragmentation threshold to 2036 (D-Link Tech support suggestion)
thinking it was the dlink fullstop....
7. go back to dick smiths and get a new dlink
thinking it was the ADSL doing something...
8. different ethernet and phone cables
9. Disconnecting phones and filters etc
10. disconnecting the phone cable completely... SUCCESS!!!
So the phone cable may be causing the droputs as the network doesnt seem to drop out when it is unplugged but of course i cant use the internet...
so i ring optus to get a line test and it comes up clean...
does anyone have any ideas?? dlink keep saying its a faulty router/modem but i dont think i would have had bad enough luck to have one just stop working then a brand new one do the same thing... or maybe i am?
anyway hope im not talking crap and u can understand me! thanks for your help!
