I plan on doing architecture.
I've set my eyes on UTS ..

It would be good to read the course content of UNSW, USYD and UTS and make your own judgement. I've read UTS' course content thoroughly, and i've fallen in love with it.

USYD is not an option for me.. its just image that makes it prestigious .. for architecture that is .. but personally i would recommend UTS .. UTS is highly recognised as a university with excellent designing courses..

But then again, UNSW has combined degrees .. that is B ARCH/LAWS .. OR B ARCH/SOCIAL SCIENCES & B ARCH/ARTS .. tough decision for you to make mate .. but it all depends on what you really want .. look around, call people. just make sure u make an informed decision based not only on other people's opinions but what you want too..

I had intended on doing a B COMMERCE OR B BUSINESS degree, but in the end, although i wanted to run a business or at least have business knowledge and expertise, I decided to do something I have loved all my life and specialise in arch, and work my way up into a managerial position from that.

I personally feel that this is the path for me, rather than taking on a business degree, as i'd have the knowledge and skills to know what goes on within the building and architectural industry.

Hope that helps mate :)

i wonder how many people actually do b arch / b laws... they are probably the two biggest workload courses lol

not many and its crap.

dean of sydney uni called my sister and advised her not to do it cause its sooo crap. maybe it was dean of acrhitecure?

He said its the worst achitecure course ever.

she got offers for that and just architecture at syd uni and deided to do arch at syd uni

I'm planning on doing B Arch/B Arts at UNSW next year... seems like a good uni with its combined degrees and the fact that they encourage overseas experience by travelling etc.

Veavents, what uni are you leaning towards?

I like UNSW for it's combined degrees, it gives you more employment prospects at the end I suppose. Apparently NSW is more academically excellent too. But I'm leaning more towards UTS, the location is very convenient for me and it seems more design-orientated with great facilities. Still a little unsure of which uni to put as my first preference though. I better make my mind up soon, January 5 is approaching fast!!

I'm choosing Architecture at the University of Queensland. Very good program, beautiful campus, only 2.5 hours from where I live now. Perfect. Looking forward to it =D
Anyone else considering UQ??
