i hope when you are choosing actuarial studies you know what you are getting yourself into
if you are looking for girls, look else-where
if you are looking for money, look else-where
the money figures are grossly overstated
honestly if you don't have a love for doing this course you will not make it to the end
he [redslert] speaks truth, yes, dis one does
. if u want girls that speak english, go do normal commerce or go to macquarie. if u want an actuarial job, aim for coop or go to macquarie. conclusion - if u want to meet good actuarial students and teachers, go to macquarie. and u only get the big bucks if u pass, which is highly unlikely...in macquarie 30%ish of 1st yr entrants make it to 4th yr (thats basically Part i and part ii exemptions)....and statistically, only 30% of part iii students for any of the specialisations (finance, investment, general insurance, life insurance and superannuation) pass, and that includes students who repeated their part iii exams...so basically 9%ish of students..and thats students who most likely got 98+ uais and 90+ in 3u and 4u. so actuarial isnt all its cracked up to be - u have to be naturally talented and a motivated worker to make it. also, australia has a small insurance industry making it extremely competitive to get actuarial vacation work or grad positions...argh, macquarie/coop >.< - stealing all the jobs!
end of story - do actuarial at macquarie if ur good!
