Assessment Tasks on one day (1 Viewer)

Hey- I have a friend in year 12 who has i think its like 3 assessements due on the one day - one for pe one for art one for dance. Shes told all her teachers about it but they wont do anything, so question is - is there any kind of formal policy from BOS that prevents it or advises against it? Apparently her year patron wouldnt be much help either so any thoughts/ suggestions?

Nah I'm fairly sure there's nothing..
I've had 3 in one day before so yeah it's pretty normal.

Back in my day I had assignments for several subjects due on the one day. You just have to do it. Time management skills. There is no policy as far as I know that states you can't have multiple assignments due on the same day.

She can maybe apply for an extension on one if it's fairly heavy, but seriously, if she wants to go to uni this whole multiple assignments on one day will prepare her.

No. Time management comes in. Assignments should be ok but tests and essays are not quite.

yeah im sure getting over it is super advice - given one is her major work (which her teacher keeps making her change around) and one is her actual HSC exam (dance) - but either way, thanks for your replies guys. good luck with HSC 08

this happened to me last week - one week before the trials
what was even worse was the school has a "policy" that they arent allowed to give year 12 students any assessments 2 weeks before the trials
and yet i still had 3 on the same day, one week before the trials
three periods in a row too
and i'm pretty sure some kids had 4 on that day - we only had 5 periods

what the hell?

should BOS have a rule with a limit of assessment tasks on one day?

bit harsh - after about 3 yrs of uni ive only come across one occasion of having 2 assessments due on one day..and even then the teacher rearranged it- but 3 or 4 before exams....i reckon schools lose sight of the pressure.....far easier to tell ppl to suck it up when theyre the ones not under pressure. i get that 2 would encourage time management but not 3 or 4 - thats just silly. ive found at uni that teachers for the most part try to work with you during your course but yeah...so glad i'm out of highschool

I hate this situation but it's inevitable. I've had 2-3 assessments due/to complete in one day back in Year 9 and 10.

I have learnt from this that prioritising is VITAL.

Dude. It's an HSC. Not uni.
The work is far easier, the work load is far less, and every single person who made any attempt in their HSC no doubt had assignments due on the same day.

You suck it up and you deal with it, because in the real world nobody gives a shit how much you have on one day. 3 HSC assignments ain't that big a deal, and if they can't hack it maybe they need to move to Cuba.

Highest i had is two assessments in one day. But worse thing is i had Physics first and then Chemistry in next period!! Well intelligently i passed!

I don't think a school is able to put more than one assessment per day. Well, that's the policy in my school at least.

Yeah same to my school aswell. But i dont know why have two assessments at one day!
