Ok so I was just wondering if say a person is liked ranked 30/60 for a subject and gets like 50% in his overall mark also goes to a well ranked school say top 100 but performs well in his externals and gets say like in the 80s how much would this affect his mark? Will he get pushed up because his rank is average? What happens too the mark since he was doing poorly in his internals?

People say only to worry about the rank but what if he goes to a well ranked school and is ranked averaged and gets poor marks say like 50% for his final mark for his internals but he gets like 80 in his externals? Can someone please explain?
