Would anyone know what communications are used in an ATM transaction processing system? eg. Hardware (switches,routers, services) and types of cabeling.

I cant find anything..my guess is that it uses a WAN, a switch and a gate way..but the tricky bit would be how would it send data to atms overseas?

it gets really complicated, given the fact you have to decrypted/encrypt data, send it to the central server and such

given it is at ipt level, you won't be required to draw(or explain) anything more than a simple (data travels from here to there) and the real time processing action etc etc
