NSW premier Morris Iemma dramatically sacked Treasurer Michael Costa last night, even as his own leadership was coming to an end.

Mr Costa will hold a press conference at 10am today to announce his departure.

It comes as The Daily Telegraph learned that the ALP was preparing to replace Mr Iemma.
