Is anyone else studying this text in relation to discovery? I need help with how it connects to this topic. Please

Yep, I actually teach this book for my Standard English class at the moment.

If your trying to link it to discovery you might want to have a look at the AOS rubric, there's heaps of information about how you have to talk about discovery.

To give you an example, you could definitely link the notions of self-discovery and 'new values' to a character like Coral as she learns to overcome her grief from losing her son in the war.
