Hey, my UAI was 82.30 and I am interested in doing business/commerce at uni. The 2 courses that I am realistically in contention for (including the bonus point scheme) are the B of Business UTS KG or B of Commerce - Marketing MQ. I need help in deciding which will be my higher preference and I only have a few days left to decide. Effectively, I need assistance or advice in deciding what to do.

The pros of the KG degree is that you can choose 2 majors instead of one at MQ. Also, another pro is that you can choose the majors at UTS in the second year whereas at MQ, its a specialised degree so you are pretty much stuck in it if I find out that I may not like the major.

The pros of MQ is that transport would be easier due to the train station and UTS KG from what I heard is a pain to get to. Also, from what I have heard from searching past topics is that MQ is more modern than KG in terms of facilities. Can people correct me if this is wrong and in fact that KG have great modern facilities.

Also, how are each of UTS KG and MQ social life there. If people who go to either campus and do similar courses, could you please comment. In particularly, as KG dont have an open day and MQ does, any info on KG would be much appreciated as I dont really want to commit myself to KG if I am not going to enjoy myself there.

If you want a straight answer, it would definitely be MQ.

Kuringai is a bit of a shit hole, it's got bad history, and it's the sort of equivalent to MQ's city campus (a crapper version of the real thing).

Have you been to both campuses and checked them out for yourself?

With regards to the majors, you are not 'stuck' in a major at MQ. Even if you're in your last year, you can change your major. Yes, some of your units may not then count to your degree, but you will have done them and they'll be on your transcript. Transferring from one major to another's really easy, so don't sweat that part. :)

I'm generally not biased towards any uni, but I think in this case it's an easy choice.

What do you mean bad history. The dilemma I am in is that I really like the Bachelor of Business structure and how its very flexible compared to MQ where u cant even do 2 majors but I have heard bad things about KG and good things about how modern the facilities MQ have.

Kuring-gai is a heaps nice campus though, and I've heard it's not too hard to transfer to city campus if you don't like it
