Hello USYDers

When candidates of both B Psych, and B Sci Major Psych courses try out for honours years, do the B psych people get preference over the B Sci people?
Or is the original degree ignored and entry is solely on individual merit?

A docoment on the website states that entry is solely on merit, but I still have doubts as if this is true then there is little incentive to go for a full blown B psych course which is less flexible than B Sci.

b psych people have the honours year in their degree already included. but to remain in the degree the must maintain a distinction average... so in fact b. psych people have to 'compete' for the 4th year honours as well... if by the end of 3rd year they do not meet the requirements to complete a b. psych, they will graduate with a b. science with majors in psych.

entry to 4th year honours is based on individual merit and that anyone from any degree can apply... i was told by a tutor of mine last year that the top student in 4th year psych honours was a b. arts student...
