What's the difference besides the length it takes to complete these degrees and the fact that BA/BSci is actually a double degree where as BAS is just one degree?

BA/BSc = good degree
BAS = bad degree

Those are basically the only differences. You can do more stuff in the BA/BSc, but it also takes years longer. The BAS also has some pointless core units in the first year.
