Hey all, I've only just become aware that the Joint Medical Program at Newcasle/UNE only provides a Bachelor of Medicine, no Bachelor of Surgery. I was just wondering, what do you miss out on without the Bachelor of Surgery? I'm assuming obviously you can't be a surgeon, but can you still specialise? What do get extra with the Bachelor of Surgery? I'm hoping to go into a specialty but can I still get that with the just the Bachelor of Medicine?
Thanks!

Not that I'm even close to being able to answer your question but shouldn't you ask some of those questions elsewhere? Where is the Bachelor of Surgery? I'm probably wrong but wouldn't B Medicine incl. surgery? Don't B Medicine people become doctors? *med noob* You should probably look up the course details/rules of B Medicine to get most of your answers - http://www.newcastle.edu.au/program/undergraduate/2008/10379.html

Edit: Wow I asked a lot of questions there :p

I don't think there has ever been a BOS'er that has done medicine, so our guess is as good as yours.
