Can anyone help me find some internet sources which will help me answer these three questions?

1. Explain the advantages and limitations of Phacoemulsification.
2. Identify any costs or disadvantages of the surgery to society.
3. Assess whether there is a lack of equity of access ti this type of technology between developed and developing worlds.

Many thanks :)

this should help. With the developed and developing countries issue, talk about the cost of the surgery and the fact that people in developing countries cannot afford the surgery because actual proceduce is costly and the machine itself is costly + lack of access to medical needs. In developed countries, society has more money, therefore people can afford the surgery and the machine + greater access to health care and hospitals.

btw, in the hsc, you wont be required to talk about phacoemulsification, they only ask for the procedure of cataracts surgery. it is very brief. all you need to talk about is that:
1) they inject an anaesthetic needle into the patient's eye.
2) they make a small incision in the front of the eye
3) a probe is placed on top of the lens where high ultrasonic sound is used to bombard the lens.
4) the broken pieces of the lens are removed
5) the intraocular lens is then used to replace the cloudy lens.
I really hope this helps :)
