Hi BOS community,
With these marks and ranks my careers adviser estimated I'd get 90-93 ... I was just wondering about your opinions..... My school is non selective and ranked 80ish last year. I really appreciate your help, thankyou!

(acumulative assess. - rank)

Advanced English: 89/100 - 3/79
Legal Studies: 94/100 - 1/15
Biology: 80/100 - 12/67
Economics: 89/100 - 3/15
Maths 2u: 88/100 - 3/62
Maths 3u: 34/50 - 12/39

Is my bio marks going to pull me down ??

I would say your advisor is underestimating a bit.

Only 90-93? Your adviser is under-estimating your performance. Your results are really awesome and from school ranked 80ish, I reckon the average UAI be around mid-80s. Even my school that is ranked 101st has average uai around 84-85.

Your ranks truly suggest that you are about top 10% of the year so I reckon 95+ is possible with 90+ being definitely definitely possible.

Interesting. Advisors usually OVERestimate lol.
You think so?

My friend (the guy that I posted up in the forum yesterday) got estimated by the advisor and he was predicted to get 98 despite his ranks...

I am quite certain that some advisors would pay more attention to marks...

Yea thats the feeling I get from my school and some friends from other school. A massive dud in our year got an estimate of 94 even though hes coming like slightly above average and below average in his subjects.

Hi guys,
thank you for taking out a short minute or two to have a look at some possibilities for me ! I am aiming for 95.2 to do BCom@UNSW...and before starting the thread I was ok confident in looking at around UAI 90...but I will work my best, because yes there are many factors which may impact on my performance for the external exam.

Once again thank you for your help, your assistance is highly appriecated and your comments are very valuable.

Try your best in HSC. If you can work your way up a bit higher in HSC, you will be able to get 95 or thereabout. Good luck~
