I don't know if anyone's seen this show on Fox8. Basically people accused of cheating are followed by detectives (hidden cameras, bugged phone calls, etc) and are then confronted, exposed and humiliated on national television. Is this ethically right? Would anyone here actually hire someone to invade their partner's privacy if you suspected them of infidelity (for a television show or not)?

But i couldn't finish the level otherwise

There are private investigators in any country who do this kind of thing for a living, even if it's not put on tv.

I've seen it, and I don't think its ethically right, but sometimes its very entertaining. I only get to watch it on the rare occasions when I'm "sick" or on holidays though.

I wouldn't do it. It's unfair and its childish. I'd rather ask him and have him say it to my face than stalk him and find out alone while waiting out the front of some unknown woman's car, with a camera and a box of tissues.

no, i don't think it's ethically right. i do, however, understand the logic/reasoning behind it. so while i personally wouldn't do it and don't think it's right to commodify it on tv, i don't think i'm totally condemning it either.

I reckon if you have to resort to stalking to find out whether they're cheating or not it shows a huge lack of trust and honesty in the relationship. Therefore it wasn't meant to be anyway whether they were cheating or not.
