This is what it says in the Guide to the Driving test:
I don't think many people actually do this. Does it mean if you are turning left to look over your left shoulder or turning right, look over your right shoulder?
I wasn't told to do this by my instructor.
Turning left – looking for pedestrians,
bicycles and motorcycles that could be
beside you in your blind spot.
Turning right – looking for vehicles
