Hi every1, I would like some helpplease with the following question:
Molten Iron can be extracted from iron (iii) oxide by heating the oxide with solid coke (carbon) in a blast furnace. carbon monoxide is also formed. Calculate the mass of iron that could be produced by reacting 1.500 kg of carbon with excess iron (iii) oxide.
THANK YOU!!!

Write an equation:

Balance it:

1.500kg of carbon is

Three moles of carbon will react with each iron (III) oxide mole, so

of iron (III) oxide will react.

Each mole of iron (III) oxide that reacts will form 2 moles of iron.

of iron.

Finally, multiply by mass number for iron.

of iron.

(haven't done this in a while so I might have made some errors)
