help. confused.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CLASSICAL MANAGEMENT and SCIENTIFIC MANAGEMENT?

i know its called classical-scientific management..
but whats are they specifically?

classical theorists is to do with the division of labour, breaking a task up into small repetitive tasks

scientific management is finding the scientifcally best way to do somthing and implementing that procedure

I think that's the old syl...now it's combined "classical-scientific". You dont need to know the difference.

so its all one thing now? :confused: my text book says 'clasical-scientfic theory' and under it has a thing on classical theorists and a little bit on scientific management...

Yep. Its combined now. The definition given in the Excel years 11-12 pocket book Business Studies defines "classical-scientific management," as an early theory of management based on simple, repetitive work broken down into seperate tasks. Characterised by strict standards and autocratic direction.
