Comp Sci with standard math? (1 Viewer)

I was really good with math from year 9 to 11 but in year 11 I had a passing in my family and decided to drop to standard math and English as I could not cope. Is it possible for me to still do computer science as someone who did standard math?

well with advanced u would've but standard covers basically nothing that will be done in uni

i think if you're willing to learn the content somehow, like bridging courses it would be helpful

yeah, i'm not sure... because i'm pretty sure you can do adv and take a bridging course, but idk about standard?

even with adv doing math1311 will be incredibly difficult. it literally covers ext 2 maths in the first few weeks, i wouldnt bother. people with ext1 barely pass..

with standard maths dont bother doing comp sci

because there's people who for some reason don't do extension 2 because of NESA's shit policy

In other states you have to do extension 2 if you want to do extension 1, it's called specialist math, everything is in one subject.

no thats not what it means lol, we're talking about engineering and comp sci. ext1 assumed knowledge means they expect everyone in that course has achieved a certain benchmark score for mx1

It depends on which uni you are going to. For example in Western Sydney Uni Computer Science department, the only math related courses are Statistics and Discrete Mathematics which have nothing to do with ext 2.
