Sorry this is probably a silly question.

How do I prove that there are always two square roots of a non-zero complex number? I get four square roots! How do you know when to only take the positive number when you have +/- a square root? If that makes sense...?

Thank you! :)

Two of the roots you get probably double up. Post an example of how you approach the question and I may be able to tell you where the error is.
