hey guys,
so basically as the title states, whats a complimentary major if im gonna major in finance? Id like to get into management consuliting (more the strategic side)or just management of a company if I dont get into IB (sales and trading) or prop trading. i was looking at a management major as well but ive heard its a waste of time? maybe accounting?
Any info will be greatly appreciated :)

Accounting never hurts so you can understand the source material (and it's limitations) which you're analysing. Also provides good back up options.

That being said if you're set on IB or whatever the dream is, maybe do something more unique and interesting- doesn't even have to be a major. After all, MC is so broad and of all my friends who got in, only a couple went with the stock standard accounting finance majors.

I just read through the accounting units and some look mildly interesting. I'm tossing up between accounting and a economics major with finance

Edit: you don't have to choose your major/s until 2nd year anyways don't you?

They're not interesting at all but it's a safe path. I didn't do it personally as I figured I wouldn't want to have it as a back-up option any way.
