So, I've lately been doing mock paper 1 tests with my tutor and for the essay and creative I get reasonably good, 12-14 but when it comes to comprehension I get 6-9... (lol). Is there anyway I can improve my comprehension marks.

Target your weaknesses - is it including a suitable amount of examples? Analysing their effect? Also always make sure you start with a statement about belonging generally in all your answers (unless it tells you otherwise) BEFORE you analyse. i.e Text A elicits the idea that belonging to place is much more empowering than connecting with groups/communities. This is conveyed through... etc. Really, comprehension is very easy to earn marks. Just have to answer the question and make sure you answer the question with the number of marks allocated in mind. i.e if it's 1 mark DON'T WRITE A PARAGRAPH, write a sentence or two. If it's 6 marks, make sure you include 3 main ideas with 2 techniques to support each or otherwise. Also look for obvious ideas - they're the easiest to analyse. Make sure you state the relevant technique + quote from the text
