What's the social, cultural and historical context of Emma and Clueless?
I'm a bit confused, but here are my ideas:
Social context - status, money, appearance, etc
Historical context - Regency era --> late 20th century

I'm not too sure about the cultural context.
Any help would be great. :)

this is probably just my wharped idea but anyhoo

cultural is kinda just how popular culture has evolved since Austen wrote Emma. i.e in Emma going to "dinner parties" and going for walks were "like, so totally cool";) and in Clueless the "in" thing to do is go to parties (ok so that bit hasn't changed much) but what happens at parties has definately...er...changed lol.
Our teacher tried to get us to draw up a list of the similarities and differences between the contexts

hope this helps:)
