Yo dudes. (yes I am hardcore)
anyways, did the CSSA trial this year, and there was a question about designing an experiment for enzyme activity in cooler temperatures.
My teacher took off a mark because apparently my temperatures weren't "cooler"
In the experiment i designed I had a the same set up but a different temperatures, ranging from 5-34 degrees. apparently, 34 was too high.
I tried arguing that "cooler" is a subjective measurement and does not have an exact value, nor is it a scientific measure, so any temperature could be right. She couldnt give a crap.
I know it is only one mark, but it could REALLY affect my ranking. She is a very hard arse marker and I have already spent a solid 30minutes arguing with her, and we aren't even half way through the test. I have managed to get an extra 1.5 marks though.
Anyways, my point is, do you have any thoughts on this? What did you guys have for this question? any suggestions on how to argue this further?
Much love to the BOSers.
