Initially what are the colours for cyclohexane, ene and bromine water.
And when u add cyclohexene to the br water, the br water decolourises. Does the cyclohexene also decolourises? ?? ?
cyclohexane - colourless
cyclohexene -colourless
bromine water - brown or yellow depending on how much bromide/bromine(i cant remember the difference..) is in it..
This is what happens in my head:
Br destroys the double bond.. which is cyclohexene resulting in decolourisation. TWO COLOURLESS LAYERS
and for cyclohexane.. nothing happens..pale yellow layer on top and colourless layer at the bottom..
I would advise you to remember this cause its pretty commonly tested...
NOTE THAT I MAYBE WRONG.. but i'm pretty sure i'm right..
