Practice Year 10, Year 11, Year 12 exams, trials & assessment tasks
thsconline version 7.0
Even more: http://tinyurl.com/thsc5 and http://tinyurl.com/thsc6

The stuff on the website is unaffected by this change, but some material is scheduled to be removed from the mediafire and dropbox links.

If this has been helpful for you, if you can contribute a trial paper, half-yearly exam; or several; email the file(s) to thsconline@gmail.com or the above email; or use the links inbuilt into the website (either option gets through)

Bookmarks
These are useful. #1 is this site. As a result of this site, and Nerdasdasd's site (hsccentral.weebly.com)
a whole "industry" of similar sites have popped up. I've avoided including most of the non-useful/duplicate ones in this list.
(Some of them watermark stuff which is a bit annoying)

New list for 2016. You would have noticed that recently; the 2015 one has been deleted.
The information is more up to date in this list and also a bit more information. I have also removed the irrelevant links i.e. the non-working ones.

[1] BoredofStudies (you are on this site)
The largest forum for HSC students and stop for asking all HSC related questions. Also check our their resources section. Make sure to sign up if you haven't. An essential for any HSC student. Click the "Register" link at the top of the page to join if you haven't.

SITE DISCONTINUED AS OF 2016; NEW LINK HERE:
https://web.archive.org/web/20150522070414id_/http://hsc.csu.edu.au/

Please note hasn't been updated since 2014.
Summaries for a large range of HSC subjects provided by Charles Sturt University.

[3] HSC Central http://hsccentral.weebly.com/
Useful resources including past papers and notes for many subjects up to 2011. This site is maintained by BoardofStudies user 'nerdasdasd'

Chemistry

[4] Easychem http://www.easychem.com.au/
Videos and Notes especially useful for those modelling dotpoints in the HSC chemistry syllabus.
This site is accurate 2012.

Maths - General, Advanced, Ext 1, Ext 2

[5] Mr Woo (Wootube) http://misterwootube.com/
Maths resources for Year 10-12 sites; as well as IPT resources. This site has useful videos for these subjects, including topics which are not covered in the HSC curriculum, but might be of some use for those continuing mathematics in tertiary studies. This site is mantained by Mr Woo; who as of 2015; is the Head Teacher of Mathematics at Cherrybrook Tech HS

[6] VirtualB15 http://virtualb15.edublogs.org/
Useful exercises and videos which explain the key concepts in both the Year 11 and HSC Extension 1 and 2 Maths courses. This site is maintained by Mr Simmons; who as of 2015; teaches at Baulkham Hills HS

[7] Angelfire 4U http://users.tpg.com.au/nanahcub/me2.html
Material mostly relevant for Ext 2 mathematics students; but also contains updates on syllabus changes, and material to extend yourself. This site has useful material designed to extend beyond the extent of the course, again useful for those continuing mathematics in tertiary studies. This site has a large collection of maths papers and HSC solutions, most of which are duplicated on this site. This site is maintained by Mr Buchanan, who as of 2015; teaches at Taylors College; and who is also present on this forum.

[8] No Intrigue http://www.nointrigue.com/blog/notes/mathematics/

Make sure to check the BoS resources page; and the sticky posts for your subject as these tend to have links as well.

Prelim HSC: prelimhsc.com
Year 11 stuff, although it is a bit hard to sort through stuff.

LEARNBLOCK: learnblock.com
This site has some useful booklets, but I've heard that they will revamping it from its old version.

There are of course many more sites. Most of them cannot be put up for here for reasons that should be obvious.

A snapshot of the new website, you would notice the new link is significantly smaller and less fidely and there exists now its own icon :).
Apart from that most of the content will be much the same.

New file viewer interface loaded (check out the Chemistry page for the new interface).
Files are transistioned back to Google Drive. Website will be hosted on Github.
As a result Maths files (Year 12) will be offline for some time, because they need to be resorted.

Good things:

* Github is used to host the website data from now on. This means custom 404 page as well as a new icon
* The files will be stored in Google Drive because of storage constraints in Github and also is easier to upload files. Some currently are stored as a backup on USB and on Github. A backup will be created once the website is finished.
* New consistent formatted in-built (very simplistic) PDF/ZIP viewer for all devices. This means you can now see the contents of the file easily before downloading or also check the file size etc. (see next post).
* It doesn't really matter where I put the files in Google Drive as long as the name doesn't change.
* Securer file storage, because it is done by file ID the folder is not exposed and therefore cannot be accessed via a backdoor method (which you could on the old website if you knew the folder ID which was tragically in the URL of the old website). This means the website will always be online for most of the time. Links might be broken, but...

to aid the transistion process, I created a Google Script that takes links of the format 9eeba... or thsconline.github.io... and converts them to Google Drive links, provided the filename exists in the system. I have been able to find all the broken links as a result.

Help files are available on the landing page:

Bad things:
The main problem is updating files, means that the file id needs to be updated in the website code, unlike previously. This takes some time, even with the Google Script. Year 12 Maths is offline because it is a massive folder that needs to be resorted.

Some cool things you can now do
(You technically could do previously but would require you to know how the old website was actually put up; i.e. how to access the folder)

- Embed a file on your own website (although you may have to check sometimes as the file might change/be updated)
- Print a file directly
- Share a file onto your Google Drive network (you cannot access the folders easily anymore via a back door method which was able to be done in the old 9eee website if you knew the inner-workings of it)
- See the file size before downloading to check if you have the space for it (most files are less than 1.5mB)
- See the content of zip files before downloading.
- Add a file to your Google Drive (not recommended though: as this tends to bring issues for any shared folders)

Easter Eggs
You can do some query strings
?search=%value%, searches for %value% (it is buggy on internal assessment pages); ?search=w. sol is a special one that shows all files with solutions.

If you need to download lots of files quickly there is a query string for that add ?quick to the url, and it disables the interface viewer (this is default for IE9 and earlier). It does this by throwing an error though, so maybe debugging the page is a bad idea.

Update 22nd July 2016
  • Fixed bug for MX2 trials
  • Some more trials for different subjects coming soon. The easiest way to upload the file is to email directly to thsconline@gmail.com (spam is auto-filtered out). If you want to check whether your file uploaded correctly that can be done.

Soon to be added Newington 2007 Ext 2 and updated 2009 Ext 2

Newington 2013 will be removed (I received the solution file today, but now the file needs to be removed).
I have deleted the file in "frenzy", so you won't be able to download it.

Latest Update 19-Aug-2015
The following subjects have been removed:
Ancient History, Design & Tech, Industrial Tech & Music 1

The following trial papers have also been removed:
Earth & Environmental Science, Senior Science
2 chemistry papers removed upon request.

Some more files are being removed. The thsconline dropbox (except for the Maths files) has been discontinued...
Not sure where to find the files. Nerdasdasd's sig has most of the files pre-2011. I have kept up the ones, that he doesn't have, as well as some that he does have.

The HSC index has been updated only to show subjects with trial papers. To access other subjects, click the SHOW ALL SUBJECTS link down the bottom of the page.
