What does this mean? Negative in the sense that the statement is negative? e.g. computer games DO do more harm than good, OR computer games do NOT do more harm than good.

If it's the prior, then you could talk about the negative effects of sitting down for long periods of time (tonnes of stuff on the net about this topic, our bodies were not designed to be sitting so long). You could talk about anti-social behaviour arising from long hours inside playing games - and not out socialising (which in turn enhances addiction of computer games).

If it's the latter, then let me know I'll think of some stuff.

WHY COMPUTER GAMES ARE GOOD:
- Promotes problem solving, creativity, critical thinking and rational decision-making
- Heightens mental agility (search up some stats about how it increases intelligence in adolescents, I'm pretty sure there were a couple of academic articles here and there)
- APPARENTLY, it improves your vision and coordination
- Improved teamwork with other players (careful, can be easily rebutted with the fact that its online liaison rather than real life)
- Rebuttal if someone talks about how it results in a bad social life: people with autism, dyslexia, ADHD and other disabilities may not be able to communicate as well with people in the "real world" persay as they do with people online. Offers an important sense of community and belonging (shoot me) that they otherwise may lack.
- Good for medical students who can practise surgery and if they fuck up, they don't actually kill the patient
- Stress relief (???) and can shift attention away from pain
- Far fetched but: in an age where digitalisation is at the fore, kids should get used to simulated/virtual realities. Rant about how we should embrace new technologies rather than shy away from it.
- Also research if there are any major problems with computer games e.g. if the status quo is ok, suggest that we should keep it as it is

MAN, I miss debating. Good luck!!!
