hey guys just wondering would i be marked incorrect for writing this in my exam

I wrote two parts because i didn't know which was the right answer.

1 - An icon, logo or name that people affiliate with a organisation
2- When someone pays somebody else to use or advertise their brand.

Which one is correct, 1 or 2 or none??

thanks

The first option is correct. As for the second option, you could be refering to franchise's?

Branding is the process of clearly distinguishing your product from the competition's by using logos, symbols or designs. Peoples' perceptions are influenced heavily by branding as it gives the product its image and value.

Meh...something along those lines?
