I would like to start a sensible discussion about the actual core differences, origins and policies (what is accepeted) in each of these parties.

I have grown up in a very much Coalition supporting family.
I feel they are more conservative.

But lets hear some facts please people educate me & discuss.

Liberals are anti-equality and don't believe in helping others or a fair go.

They also believe that it is good foreign policy to suck Bush's dick.

Depends how deep you go. On a most basic level, the ALP is the political arm of the Union movement, and the Liberal party is a group of anti-socialists who were initially united by their opposition to Labor policy/dominance. I wouldn't describe myself as a conservative, but I'm fairly deeply embedded in the Liberal party nonetheless because I think there's hope for it to change for the better, and that it's infinitely better than the alternative.

Not a bad summary of the status quo.

The core difference stems for the ALP's links with unions, they continue to recieve union funding and so are more likely to favour interventionist labor market policies.

Overall Liberals are still slightly more economically liberal, but also slightly more socially conservative, although Rudd is making labor looking less socially permissive every day.
