hi everyone im currently a first year commerce student and i want to know the difference between free electives units and Gen ed units.

I'm sure the best way to get a 'correct' answer is to pose an 'incorrect' one so this is my take:

I think general education are the subjects outside of your faulty whereas free electives are the ones that are in your faculty?

Free electives are subjects that you can take that can be from your own faculty or a different one (so basically any faculty at all including urs)

Gen eds are 2 subjects that you have to do, that cannot be from your faculty at all. They have to be something from another faculty.
