So im doing my notes and im seeing people put definitions like for example with civil and political rights (legal studies), they will say that civil and political rights Protect individuals from arbitrary/totalitarian exercises of power by the state. And that will be their definition. ISN'T THIS TO VAGUE and wont HSC questions ask for more precise definitions.
very lost and need help because i don't want to spend time writing things i don't need to write nor remember

By their nature (especially in english), some terms will be vague and imprecise. When giving definitions, using an example to illustrate your definition is probably the way to go. Idk about legal specifically but you don't want to be too specific sometimes, as it limits what you can talk about. The again, being too broad can also be detrimental in HSC. It will vary depending on the context.

Probably ask your teacher or check a textbook to see what type of definition is necessary in that specific case
