I was just wondering if I dropped to General Maths, would this effect my atar in the long run. I'm unsure if you get "scaled down" for example you get 95 in an exam would they scale down to 85 just because your in General.
Thanks for the help, im just abit unsure:)

It depends. Whilst general isnt a great scaling subject, you have to remember that getting a bad mark in any subject is going to hurt you, whilst getting a great mark in a subject probably wont. So you have to ask yourself "how much better can I do in general then in 2 unit?". If you think you can only get a little bit better, then its probably not worth dropping, if you think you can do a lot better than you should drop.

it depends, 95 in general will not scale you down to 85, it will probably be about 96
whereas if you get 95 in 2u, it will probably scale to 100

BUT, how bad are your marks in 2u? it they're <65 u should think about dropping because you can probably get ~95 in general if you're not lazy
but if you're getting 80+ then you should stay in 2u

But if you're lazy and will not work in general then you will probably get a bad mark and scale down.

General doesn't scale down if you get a good mark (you can get a good mark with any subject as long as you work)
