I think it depends on where your interest lies, one thing you need to keep in mind is that you can always change degrees through your uni degree, it is not like you can only choose one degree and never change it until you finish that degree, you could start with Commerce/Engineering or another double degree you like, and then after a year, if you realise you like commerce more, or engineering more, then you might want to drop it to do a double major or just do civil. One thing to keep in mind is whilst as the previous poster say, just doing civil will make you graduate earlier, but some people do find 4 years is not enough time to taste uni life and also collect enough experiences to find a job (i.e. you might feel pressured into starting cv building in first year or second year, because of how early you will graduate), and you might want a slightly longer degree to give you the flexibility to have fun in the first few years, and consider cv building in the last few years. Ultimately it is up to you, and my advice right now is try it out for a year-either combination and then review your choice in a year's time. Uni is a journey, and life is full of choices, so don't have a fixed mindset there is only one possible route
