What is the difference in terms of course you do in a year? Is it a much harderwork load?

Workload is roughly the same. Just longer duration for double degrees.

You still do 4 subjects per semester except you do 2 subjects of one degree & 2 subjects of the other degree. You can overload units sometimes to finish Uni earlier as double degrees add 1-2 years.

Yeah, I guess you would be able to if the subjects that you wanted to overload were free & didn't have any major clashes with anything else.

I'm not sure if all subjects are offered in both semesters. :/

It's possible, assuming you can do those 5 subjects in a semester (there are pre-requisites for subjects remember), and that the lectures line up in your favour.

I reped you and you got a new box!!!
Nah, I didn't get a new box. I've been one 1 gold for a while. The bar refreshes though after rep, so it can look like it.

A friend of mine did 6 subjects per session, and got a 4.5 down to a 3 year degree. I wouldn't recommend it though.

it wont finish in 3, you'll still have 2-4 subjects left over, so 3.5 yrs, unless you overload to 6 subjects a sem for 2-4 semesters... this depends on when you start overloading too

I plan on doing this, 5 next sem (hopefully), 6 each sem next yr, 6 the sem after, then 5 each after that.

HOPEFULLY it works out.

Wow, how many hours per week did your friend spend at Uni?

Our single degree is already roughly 25 hours, which may not seem a lot, but compare that to the average 15 hours most people do, it's a decent amount.

As a double, she was probably doing 30 or so hours.

I read a really interesting article about whether double degrees were worth it. Essentially pointed out that to fit the double degree in, you were dropping electives and thus losing the breadth component you could get in a single degree. Wish I could find it!

But essentially how long you can get in depends how much you overload and if the subjects you want can be done either semester and fit on the timetable.

Electives are useless anyway, *mostly*, I'd rather a double degree than a single with a year of electives

Wtf? You gain more breadth if anything...
