It is very much like an English essay. However, there are two key differences.
1. Techniques need to be dramatic/theatrical. You don't mention things like metaphor in a drama essay. Your evidence needs to come from the application of the theatrical ideas to the script. Things like staging, positioning, verfremdung, characterisation, relevance to schools of though i.e Absurdism etc.
2. Real Life/Staged examples. A production of the show that you've seen OR a version that you've workshopped in class OR a hypothetical example of how you would stage it.
Like an English essay, you still need to develop an argument in answering the question.
