Was this taken out of the syllabus?

Do we need to know the formula and the effect of impurities/cross-sectional area.... on current flow and drift velocity?

I'm pretty sure we still need to know about this.

I guess not.

Syllabus says
"compare qualitatively the relative number of free electrons that can drift from atom to atom in conductors, semiconductors and insulators"

Is drift velocity the velocity of electrons as they move through a substance. And the velocity is rarely the same as colllisions with positive charges usually reduce their velocities.
Not sure cause the books i used didnt seem to go into much detail abt the drift velocity in super and semi conductors.
