What do you want to drop?

If it's a private school then they probably can but if it's a public school then you should be able to drop even if the school doesnt want you to

no they can't. They should let u drop cause u only need a min of 10 units unless it's ur own school rule which is stupid. Maybe they'll let u drop later

my school didnt let us drop subjects in the first few weeks of yr12 because they wanted people to think about it (from prelim results and stuff). I think it was around this time of term when they let us drop??

They'll try to keep you at 12 units instead of 10, my school's doing that right now- but i doubt they can actually force you. My school's currently just making us do the first term of HSC content, and then we can drop the subject next year. But we can get away with 10 if our parents sign like another couple of forms. If you have a curriculum coordinator, schedule a meeting with them, if not, try the subject coordinator for the subject your looking to drop. Explain the situation on why you want to drop a subject, provide good reasons (EG: mental health, workload, low scores, ATAR contribution ect..). Then hopefully, even if they don't let you drop right away, they'll give you some sort of way to drop later. Worse case scenario, you keep the subject till next year.
Hope this helps! :)
