hey guy i got a economic issues and management policies assessment due next week and i was just wondering if any of u guys know how to answer the following question:


-discuss how labour market policies can influence the level of skills in the labour market or reduce the level of unemployment?

labour market policies actually increase unemployment int he short run because it makes people redundant and deskilled. however, with proper compensation and programs to help them re enter the workforce, + increased efficiency and compeititvenss will mean lower unemployment in the long run

i know there is other policies that can help with the unempolyment problem such as monetary policies. increase in the interest rate --> increase of capital inflow (investment) --> higher factors of production demand --> lowering of unemployment

well, that's what i'm thinking. If i'm wrong, then i'm very sorrie.
