Hi Guys, im doing this question and im stuck please help.

Actinium-227 undergoes radioactive decay with mixture of alpha and beta emissions.
Describe the composition of the product nucleus, when Ac227 emits a beta particle.

Thanks in advance!

After emitting a beta particle, its mass number will remain the same (227), but it's atomic number will increase by 1 as a result of beta emission, meaning it will be Thorium 227.

Just to add in to Sindivyn, in beta decay, a neutron is transformed into a proton and an electron. The electron is emitted from the nucleus and the proton remains.
