I've been checking out the uni email function and have just set up email forwarding to gmail and the reply-as email address.

Now, I'm trying to set up the email alias but sending an email to the alias bounces. Is there a particular format that you have to use, such as f.surname@usyd.edu.au or firstname.s@student.usyd.edu.au, or is the problem something else? (I tried to do it as firstname.surname@student.usyd.edu.au.)

edit: I figure out what the problem is. Because my unikey uses my middle name (complications during registration), they seem to want the alias to keep with that, and not my first name after all.

Yep, it can be anything.

Perhaps it just takes a bit of time to work?
