I was asking my Engineering Teacher what the scaling was of engineering studies and he said that it was about par with physics. I don't know if thats true or not so I was just wondering if anyone could confirm that

My teacher said something quite similar in that physics scales only slightly higher than engineering studies. However, almost ever ATAR calculator considers engineering studies to scale nowhere near as good as physics which leads me to the conclusion that a teacher will make say anything to get you to study their course

engineering is an over hyped subject in the HSC it requires a lot of work and its scaling is not worth the effort. it is low scaling and people usually only undertake it if it is a prerequisite for university courses.

There is no such thing as a prerequisite for a course at NSW unis. Just assumed knowledge, and engineering studies is not one for any engineering courses.

engineering studies would just be an aid to further study related to that field.

To OP, don't worry about scaling at this stage. Just study hahaha. You'll be fine.
