Hi i am writing an essay on belonging at the moment and can't think of a technique in the text.

Say for example, you have an opening sentence (or any sentence in the beginning of a text), which is repeated again at the end of the text, for emphasis or whatnot.

Is this called "parallel sentencing" or what?

Thanks in advanced!

Edit: I have looked everywhere but cannot find it! thanks again :)

Techniques differ according to text type. Are you studying a poem, image, article, play, short story or novel?

NICE you legend (Y)

but isnt that a word that is repeated at the end of a sentence?

ill use that anyway (Y) thanks!
Yes. Though it's probably better to state the purpose of this technique - to add meaning, emphasis or draw parallel or juxtaposition between the start and conclusion of a segment or story. I forgot the exact names of a lot of the techniques used in English in the middle of the HSC exam - but if you state the purpose, the markers will still give a nod to that I believe.

I'd just call it a recurring motif...
