Is it normal to write practically the same essay for English in trials and for HSC (obviously sparingly different in terms of adapting to the question) - but in regards to quotes used, same ideas etc

For e.g. (Not me) 20/20 aos essay in school. Use it again for trials and then again for hsc with adaptions to question

My English teacher encourages me to do what you said. So I'm going off based off what she said.
