Hi

I have a small question?

Where do I need to go to get the supporting documentation to show that I have taken on ALOT more responsibility at home?

Here's the situation:
My Dad went into a nursing home last year, because he is terminally ill. Since then my mother has been working her butt off to support him, her, me, my sister who is at university and a friend of hers who is currently living with us. At home it's only me mum and her friend. As Mum works lots I have to do ALOT more to help her with her work and around the house. We can't get rid of the friend cause he gets abusive otherwise, but he doesnt do anything...

This need to do more around the house has affected my school mark greatly. I'm looking to get Special Consideration for the HSC but so far the only supporting documentation I have is a medical letter about my Dad.

Any suggestions?

Get a church figure if you attend church, or your principal/year advisor, to write a letter vouching for your circumstances.

That's so wierd, a friend living in your home and he get abusive when you ask him to get out??? Why not call the police?

Have you read the booklet for the Educational Access Scheme? It's sticked in one of these forums if you havn't seen it.

Be sure to see your school counsellor, careers advisor, etc about EAS and your current circumstances.

Please gather relevant documentation such as a statement from the nursing home, medical professionals, etc. Or a non-family member, friend in a respectable position/professional ie lawyer, doctor, pharmacist, teacher who knows about ur positoin to comment on ur situation.

Thanks.

I just didn't know what counted as documentation to prove that I'm doing alot more around home than I should.

New question,

Talking to my year 12 mentor, she mentioned a program where someone comes to your house to do all the housework if youre trying to juggle house maintenance and studies.

Can anyone shed some more light on this?

you can also claim bonus points for your father falling seriously ill. that would pretty much be guaranteed.
