Hey everyone! My name is Jayson Jeganathan

I've been teaching Yr 11-Yr 12 Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Maths for the past SEVEN years. I specialise in Prelim and HSC Phys/Chem/Bio. I have tutored one-on-one and groups of up to four people, and my students have seen distinct improvements in their marks and responses to HSC questions.

I completed my HSC in 2009 and achieved:

Physics 98 (State 7th)
Chemistry 98 (State 2nd)
Biology 97 (State 9th)

English Adv 97
3U Maths 99
4U Maths 96

ATAR 99.95
UMAT 99

Why choose me?

1) I have SEVEN YEARS OF EXPERIENCE tutoring a diverse range of students.

2) You don't want your tutor to be just anyone with a list of excellent credentials. You shouldn't come to me just because I have a list of 99's. You should come to me because I am a committed teacher. My goals in any class are for you to understand the basic concepts first, and then to maximise your marks. These are often very different things.

3) Most of my students learn things ahead of time so that when you learn it from your teacher, it’s revision. I believe that this pattern of relearning the same concepts from different avenues is best for understanding.

4) My style of teaching is very DIAGRAM-BASED. I usually outline the concept on the white board first, using pictures and examples. After you understand the KEY CONCEPT, we go ahead and write down the concise version of 'what you need to know' in your exercise book. For instance, in Biology Module 3 (Health), I draw sharp-toothed villainous viruses fighting heroic antibodies ;P This alleviates your mind from having to determine which blob is the 'evil one' and which blob is the 'good one', so that you can focus on the complex interactions between them.

5) I give lots of homework, made by myself and from past HSC papers. My homework is usually harder than HSC questions, and more focused on whether you understand the concept. We do tests at the end of each module to ensure revision and to teach EXAM TECHNIQUE and self-marking.

6) If you are a regular student, you will have access to my COMPREHENSIVE NOTES which detail everything you need to know.

The price is negotiable, and cheaper in a group (2-5 people). I make sure that students are matched on ability before joining them into a group, so that we're not wasting your time and money.

Forget Jayson's spectacular marks, he's been answering all my annoying questions all year despite barely knowing me at all. A solid person who's happy to help regardless of who you are. Highly recommended!

Can I just say your marks (especially the three state rankings) are so sublime! (Sorry, can't take up the tutoring offer, I live very far from Sydeny!)

Hey Jayson, for your Chem notes, what option topic did you do? Coz at Girra for us they do Industrial Chem so I was just wondering. Thanks

Hey =) I did Chemistry of Art for Chem, Astrophysics for Physics, and Genetics for Bio. But I can answer questions about the other option modules and explain DotPoints, using knowledge from Uni Chem/Bio course. I've done that with a few of my students when they ask me questions from their Option topic.
