I've just had explorer.exe crash on me about 20 times in the last 10 minutes. While doing all manner of tasks. Opening folders, Cutting files, copying files, pasting files, clicking once on files, looking at files, thinking about looking at files...

It's rather frustrating as you can imagine. Each time the report say that's it's a different .dll that caused the problem and the error code is different.

Any ideas? Virus, Spyware, Malware, Registry Issues, Reboot have all failed to bring up anything out of the ordinary or fix the proble,

Sounds like a virus or malware, stop looking at porn.

I'm not a moron... and I think that last time I looked at Porn was 2006 on a different computer...

I've run CA Anti Spyware, CA Anti Virus, Cleaned all my Cache, AVG, Ad-Aware, Hijackthis, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Combofix, Auslogics Defrag, Disk Check, Disk Cleanup, CCleaner... tried going back to a restore point, didn't make any difference...

My guess is that the fact that different .dll files are crashing it has something to do with a fragmented Registry, or a similar issue where explorer.exe is not finding what it needs to run and then crashing... or maybe something is interfering with it... I'll try Auslogics Registry Defrag next...

I have this problem too, though it happen way less frequently. Once a week?

Deleting system32 didn't help either.

I fixed the problem, tis cool...

There was a lash between the system32.dll and a .dll from the latest patch for VLC leaving an obsolete key there... fixed the problem by re-downloading and re-installing it.

deleting system32 does anything but help, you're deleting part of the core of windows

Sure you are, otherwise you wouldn't have asked for help.

Idiot.

Wow, you really are on a little high horse there aren't you! Does it make you feel all big and powerful?

I asked for help because I thought someone might have come across the problem before, and they would have saved me running the scans that took quite a bit out of my day that I would have liked to spend doing more useful things.
